We're Truckin'!

The view from our front door!

Our first night we stayed in Bullhead City right next to the Colorado River.  We then made our way to Oatman, a little old west town they call a ghost town.  Lakyn got bit by a donkey!  Hahahahaha!!!  She's okay, it was just a little nip.  I got a picture of it but the delay on the camera missed the action and only got the aftershock.

We left Oatman by winding back and forth up a narrow two lane road, people looked at us funny, probably callin' us dumbasses but we had fun.  This pic was taken on what we call Deadman's Point due to the numerous cross memorials.  One in particular was named Jimmy Hoffa, hmmm.  Now we are in Kingman, Arizona that doesn't have any towers for our new pay as you go phone and we have to stay here til Wednesday cuz we're volunteering at their animal shelter on Tuesday.  The fine folks here say we should have service when we reach Flagstaff though.

We stayed in the Walmart parking lot last night!  Hahaha, it wasn't that bad, by the time it was time for bed the lot was almost full with other RVer's.  We went to the skatepark today and Aaron said it sucked.  Not much happening in Kingman.  I wish we didn't have to stay so long but we have to wait anyway for our gas money.  Can't wait to move on down the road.

I finally got my store at etsy up to sell my jewelry.  I've only posted and few things so far but I'm working on it.  I've posted a link to it on the blog in the side bar.  Check it out!!!

This is what we asked for.  We are getting into the groove of this way of life just yet and I'm sure we'll get used to it.  Going with the flow and lightening up is what this is all about.  We'll post again when we move into another town.

Delayed

Hi, Just letting everyone know that we've been delayed a little, due to repairs on Gypsy Rose that needed to be done before we could pull out.  (That dang Mercury Retrograde...)  So then I had to re-consult the heavens and the closest positive date for departure is now the 17th of Feb.  That's okay though, everything happens for a reason and everything is as it should be in my book so EVERYTHING'S GOOD!!!

I've been working on making some more necklaces for my etsy shop (Soulweaver.etsy.com) so I would have more than a few to post for sell and we should be setting it up for customers tomorrow.  Just have to retake some pics that didn't turn out like I like.  The kids have been visiting their friends and cousins, having fun, but I think everyone is ready and anxious to get going on our journey.

We're thinking that we'll be heading into Arizona then maybe over to Slab City (see Into the Wild for further explanation and visuals on this site)  My brother wants us to go to Disneyland in April for his and his sons birthday so we will be setting up a volunteer mission for free tickets.  We love to volunteer anyway so that will be a bonus!!  We are planning to find volunteering opportunities in everyplace we end up in so maybe we'll wait to see what's available in Arizona.  Then we'll be heading up the California, Oregon and Washington Coast.  These are just tentative plans.  We know that plans change and expectations can only let us down so we try to live in the moment and go where the day takes us.

Thanks to our family for hosting a See Ya Later Alligator's party last weekend.  It was fun and the chili was really good.  I wish everyone could have made it.  It was good to see all of you together before we take off on our adventures.  I will try to figure out how to set up pictures and text on this crazy machine by the time we have some travel pics to share.

We love everyone,

Hi! Hello!

We have been living the motor homelife for about six months now, although we have not yet left our hometown which is in Las Vegas.  We have been moving around though.  Our first home was in the mountains outside of Las Vegas where we stayed during the summer.  Then we moved to Caliente, Panaca, Pioche and Eagle Valley which is about 3 hours away.  Right now we are in Scotts mothers yard where we've been for the holidays and we are leaving on January 30th (this good vibe date was picked by consulting the sky gods) for the open road and looking forward to wherever power takes us.  (Also we just bought a couple of mopeds with the sale of our car - Woohoo!)

We bought our Gypsy Rose in Huntington Beach and it sure was a fun trip going to get her.  The people we bought her from were the nicest and they even offered for us to come back and park in their yard if we wanted to.  We brought her home and gave her a makeover (she was a little dated).  Now she fits our style and is very homey.  I will try to post some more pics of her later.  She has only had some minor problems but nothing that can't be fixed.  We love living in her and she has brought us closer as a family since.

We have been following some other families on the road and we have learned a lot from them also we have been inspired like nobody's business!  Our mission is to volunteer, work on some organic farms, kayak with the whales, visit the Rainbow Family, and eventually build an Earthship somewhere we love.  I've been making some jewelry and hope to have an etsy store soon for some money along the way.  Being out of the work mode I have been able to tap into my creativity more and more as time goes along.  I'm being reprogrammed and I like it!  I haven't had a migraine, severe stomach pains or depression since we've detached ourselves from the societal norm and our family tells me they haven't seen me happier!

Well, I don't know if anyone will see our blog or even care but hopefully it'll be something our family can follow as we post our pics of our travels and update our experiences.
